WOODWORKING
Getting ready for retirement,
I started putting together a woodworking shop.
In this picture, I'm adding
a router table to my table saw.
See the complete project here.
One of the first things I built was a step stool for Grandson, Van.
Then I built Van a swing to hang from the tree in the back yard. I used
precut 'select pine' 1x2 lumber that was actually 3/4" x 1.5". I
found a picture of something like I wanted and made a set of plans using the
pre cut wood.
With Granddaughter Faith's first birthday, I built another swing out of
rough cut White Oak.

So now, daughter-in-law comes over and says 'Hey Dad, can you build this?'
To which she pulls out a set of plans for a hamper that she picked up at Lowes.
The plans say 'intermediate' skill. I figure, what the heck, I'm intermediate,
I can do this.
With my love of rough cut white oak, I built it out of that. It would have
been a lot easier if I had used precut material, but what the heck. I learned
a lot.
Glider Porch Swing
I changed to poplar this time and built a glider for Helen and the grand
kids to use on the back porch.
SEWING BOX
A try at making something fancy with my new dove tail jig.

Pipe Making
Brief Case
I saw a project like this on Lumberjocks.com and wanted to build my own.
